  • NTU's solar car wins Solar Grand Prize at the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2010

    NTU's solar car, Nanyang Venture III, took home the Solar Grand Prize and ranked 14th out of 29 entries in the Prototype category at the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2010, held at the Sepang International Circuit, Kuala Lumpur from 8-10 July 2010. Nanyang Venture III's improved aerodynamic features and solar power capturing ability, combined with its light weight carbon fibre honeycomb composite shell & titanium parts, helped it attain an energy efficiency of 316.1 km per kilowatt hour for its best run.   • Royal Malaysian Navy to Buy New Offshore Patrol Vessels

    The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) (Malay: Tentera Laut DiRaja Malaysia (TLDM) is the naval arm of Malaysia's armed forces. The RMN is one of the largest and most technologically advanced navies in South East Asia. The Malaysian government has announced that it has allocated funds to build six Second Generation Patrol Vessels (SGPV), with the construction to begin soon. Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BN Shipyard)- Lumut, has received a letter of intent from the Defence Ministry to undertake the construction of six second-generation patrol vessels with combatant capabilities.   • Sembcorp Marine unit secures deal from ConocoPhillips Skandinavia

    SINGAPORE : SMOE, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, has clinched a S$550 million contract from oil giant ConocoPhillips Skandinavia.The company will carry out engineering, procurement and construction works for a 10,000-metric-tonne topside platform that can accommodate 552 personnel.Other deliverables for the project include two bridges, a bridge connector and a helideck. The platform will also feature a built-in centralised telecommunications centre and a control tower. Construction of the project is expected to commence in the third quarter this year, with installation delivery scheduled for 2013.On completion, it will be deployed at the Greater Ekofisk Area in the North Sea. At location, the topside will sit above a water depth of 80 metres. Most of the fire extinguisher tubing systems use NORSOK standard titanium pipes, fittings and flanges.   • Rolls-Royce opens new plant in Singapore

    The 65,000 square metre Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus is located on a 154,000 square metre site at Seletar Aerospace Park in Singapore and is the Group’s most modern manufacturing, training and research facility to date. The Campus was officially opened on 13 February 2012 by the Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong.

    Singapore's welcoming business environment, highly skilled work force, and entrepreneurial energy, have made it a magnet for many hundreds of British Companies. Many of these, like Rolls-Royce, have made Singapore a hub for their Asia operations. British business now has some 25 billion pounds sterling invested here – a massive vote of confidence in this dynamic country.

    Titan's relationship with Rolls-Royce roots back to PTRC which was situated at Nanyang Technological University campus since 2009. It is a relationship we celebrate today and one which we are confident will continue to go from strength to strength. Our warm congratulations to you all in Rolls-Royce, who have had the vision to create the Seletar facility.
