Our Services

Chamfering

  • Capability to chamfer round bar stock in sizes ranging between 3.00mm DIA to 300mm DIA, with a depth of 10.0mm

Titan Engineering provides titanium raw material to customers, but what we like to provide is that "first step" beyond the raw material.  We found that there were many customers who purchased rod/bar stock from us and when they received our material, their "next step" was to put a chamfer on the rod/bar.

Titan Engineering saw this as an opportunity to provide an "added value" service to this segment of the customer base.  Customers can now purchase rod or bar products, chamfered to their specifications.

The benefits to the cust omer in this situation are that they now have one less operation to perform in their shop and reduced cycle time.   Offering a chamfered product creates manufacturing efficiencies in our customers shop that translate to costs savings. Titan Engineering has the capability to chamfer round bar/rod stock in sizes that range from 3.0 mm DIA to 300 mm DIA with a depth of 10.0mm.

Cut to Length

  • Cut to length coil or foil can be provided in a wide variety of widths and lengths. Buy what you need, not what we have.

It is important to Titan Engineering that our customers be able to purchase what they need with respect to sheet and strip products.  Many times a standard strip or sheet product does not satisfy our customer's needs.  It may be too big for their requirements.

Titan Engineering offers custom widths and lengths in Titanium sheets or foil products. In doing so, our customers realize great cost benefits because they don't have to buy more material than they actually need.

One of the cost savings recommendations we have for this product is for the customer give us a finished part size so that we can choose a product that is custom to one or multiples of the part. This correlates to spending less cash for the raw material as well as generating less scrap in the manufacturing process. The more cost effective opportunities we can offer to our customer base, the more competitive our customers can be in their marketplace.

Milling

  • Milling:  Titan Engineering can provide milling based upon specific customer requirements.

Titan Engineering can provide milling based upon specific customer requirements. The milling process is the progressive removal of a predetermined amount of metal from a work piece to achieve rough-cut mill finish. This is a value added service that Titan Engineering is able to offer customers.

In an effort to reduce in-house costs, Titan Engineering customers can ask for milling finish Ti blocks. Our customer's objective is to receive a product from Titan Engineering that is milled to their specification. In doing so, Titan Engineering has ultimately eliminated a manufacturing process in our customer's shop.

Please let us know whether you need 6-face square milling or top bottom face milling.

Wire-Cut services

  • Wire-Cut services-  We provide CNC wire-cutting services with our Swiss made precision wire edm machines.

Titanium alloys can be challenging for machining. Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is a non-contact, force-free industrial cutting process. In wire EDM, an electrical spark is used to cut different types of electrically-conductive materials, such as metals, carbides, alloys, and graphites.

In Wire EDM cutting, the material to be cut is submerged in a dielectric cutting fluid, usually deionized water. A thin single-strand wire electrode is placed over the material on a CNC-controlled robotic guidance system. An electric current is run through the wire, creating an electrical spark of intense heat (8000-12000°C). The electrical spark cuts the material by removing the metal content through melting and vaporization. The robotic guidance system guides the wire and the spark it generates over the cutting path for the desired pattern, but the wire does not touch the material. At the same time, the dielectric cutting fluid cools the material and flushes away particles that have been cut from it.

Small Hole Drilling

  • Small Hole Drilling -  Small holes in titanium alloy could be quiet challenging as drill bit could break very easily. In these circumstances you can use our small hole drilling services to drill small holes.
  • EDM small hole drilling/Super Drilling/Hole popping was originally used for putting in starter holes for the Wire EDM machines. We still use it for this purpose everyday. We can put starter holes in as small as 0.5mm diameter and as deep as 200mm. It doesn't matter if the material is hard or soft, aluminum or titanium or carbide.
